GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The contest is open to all Malaysian citizens except employees of BERNAMA and its subsidiaries, their immediate family members, their advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members.

2. The theme for this competition, which covers all three categories, is “50 Years of Independence: Marvellous Malaysia”. All participants are free to interpret and portray this theme in a creative way through the three abovementioned categories.

3. Participants may submit multiple entries in multiple categories. However, each participant is eligible to receive only one prize for each category.

4. Only entries submitted with completed entry form are deemed valid. Entry forms may be obtained from the competition secretariat at 5th Floor Wisma Bernama, Jln Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, or can be downloaded from www.bernama.com.

5. All entries must reach the competition secretariat before or on Friday, August 3rd, 2007. Late entries will not be entertained

6. Only entries for the Creative Writing category may be submitted online through this website. Entries for Creative Photography and Creative Cartoon must be submitted by post. Entries for Creative Writing may also be submitted by post.

7. BERNAMA reserves the rights to amend any of the competition's terms and conditions without prior notice.

8. Proofs of postage, electronic submission or e-mail are not proof of delivery.

9. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. BERNAMA reserves the right to exchange the stated prizes with others of the same value without prior notice.

10. All prizes must be claimed from the competition secretariat office. However, winners may request for their prizes to be sent by post, with valid reasons. BERNAMA is not liable for any damages to the prizes during delivery,

11. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence or objections thereafter will be entertained.

12. Any legal claims on BERNAMA pertaining to the contest are deemed not valid.

13. BERNAMA reserves the right to publish the names of winners for publicity purposes.

14. Prizes must be claimed within 60 days from the date of notification. Claims made after the period will not be entertained.
