Contest Description
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Eligibility
This contest is open to all Malaysian residents aged 12 years and above, except employees of Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad and its subsidiary companies, and immediate family members of such employees.

2. Duration
The contest will run for ten (10) consecutive weeks beginning 14th May 2007 and ending 22nd July 2007. The Grand Finale will be held on 30th August 2007.

3. Prizes
There are three (3) categories of prizes:

i) WEEKLY CASH PRIZES
Five (5) cash prizes of RM10,000 will be given away each week.
The 5 weekly winners are selected based on the following formula: number of entries received for a particular week divided by 5. The winning entries will be those with the serial number bearing the closest, lowest whole number that results from the stated division, and multiples thereof, and must contain the correct answer to the question given for the week.

For example, if 33,888 entries are received for the week, then based on the above formula: 33,888 divided by 5 = 6,777.6. Thus, every 6,777th qualified entry stands to win the weekly cash prize. The 5 winning entries are the 6,777th, 13,554th, 20,331st, 27,108th and 33,885th, on condition that the answer to the question for the week in such entry is correct.

If any selected entry has an incorrect answer, the entry numbered nearest and subsequent to such entry and which contains the correct answer will win the prize.

ii) BONUS PRIZES
Five (5) cash prizes of RM1,000 each will be given away to the five (5) contestants with the highest number of entries each week.

iii) GRAND FINALE PRIZES
The 5 weekly cash prize winners from Weeks 1 to 10 will qualify for the Grand Finale. The 50 finalists have to attend the Grand Finale on 30th August to be eligible for the Grand Finale prizes. The prizes they win will be determined by their placing in the elimination rounds in the Grand Finale.

4. Eligibility for prizes
Contestants may submit any number of entries, but each Contestant is eligible to win only one cash prize of RM10,000 throughout the duration of the contest. The winner automatically qualifies for the Grand Finale. The same winner can also win the weekly bonus prize in the same week or subsequent weeks.

5. Submission of entries and qualifying criteria:
To qualify, all entries must be:
- submitted using only the original entry form published in The Star.
- legible, and completed in full with the required answer to the weekly question and personal particulars.
- assembled correctly and pasted on a postcard or manila card as specified.
- received before the closing date of the contest.
- mailed / posted via post offices to the address stated in the entry form or dropped into the contest boxes located at Menara Star (Petaling Jaya), Star Media Hub (Shah Alam), Star Northern Hub (Penang), and Ikano Power Centre information counter (ground floor) in Petaling Jaya. Couriered entries and entries in any other postage form (eg. in envelopes) will be disqualified.

6. Disqualified entries
Entries altered in any manner and those that do not comply with the Rules and Regulations of this contest will be disqualified. JudgesÕ decisions are final and no correspondence, request or appeal will be entertained.

7. Damaged/Misdirected entries
The Organiser will not be responsible for entries damaged, misdirected or lost through the post. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. All entries become the property of the Organiser and are non-returnable.

8. Rights
The Organiser reserves the right to photograph any winner and publish and/or use the names, particulars and photographs of the Contestants and their entries at any time, without prior notice or consent. The Contestants agree to indemnify the Organiser against all losses, costs and claims if the ContestantsÕ entry(ies) infringes the copyright of any party. The Organiser reserves the absolute right to vary, change, reschedule or discontinue the contest and/or to vary, substitute, discontinue any or all the prizes at any time with out assigning any cause or reason there-of.

9. Notification of winners
Winners will be notified by mail and their names will be published in The Star.

10. Prizes not transferable or exchangeable
The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. The prizes must be collected within one month from the date of the results, failing which they will be forfeited. Ownership of the prizes shall pass upon collection by and/or transfer of such prizes to the winners. Risk on and associated with the prizes shall pass to the winners upon announcement of the winnerÕs name as the winner of the relevant prize.

11. Disclaimer and warranties
The Organiser will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury arising from use of the prizes in any manner whatsoever. All warranties on the prizes shall be in accordance with manufacturersÕ and/or developersÕ terms and conditions. Prizes to be given shall not be inclusive of taxes, duties and insurance. All costs relating to any travels, accommodation and risks in participating in the contest and all costs relating to any risks, taxes and duties on the prizes shall be borne by the contestants and winners respectively.

12. Contest Rules and Regulations
By participating in this contest, Contestants agree to be bound by the contest Rules and Regulations, and all decisions made by the Organiser.
