Kuala Lumpur, 3 May 2007: RHB Bank Bhd (“RHB Bank”), fresh from launching a credit card especially for travellers, now wants to give its credit cardholders a chance to win free holidays as well.

The bank has just launched its RHB Getaway Contest, giving holders of any of its nine credit cards the opportunity to win fantastic travel packages to destinations such as Los Angeles, Venice and Paris or local tourist spots such as Pulau Redang, Tioman, Langkawi and Pulau Perhentian.

“All the credit cardholder has to do is make a purchase of any amount on his RHB credit card, anytime, anywhere, then answer two simple questions and he may just be on the way to a great holiday,” says Michael Lor, Head of Consumer Banking at RHB Bank.

“What can be more refreshing than taking a break from a hectic work schedule to fly off somewhere exotic or exciting for a holiday? To top it all off, this is a free holiday,” Lor says.

“We at RHB Bank understand that sometimes, all of us need a break. We want to help get that load off your shoulders, to pamper you and your partner by rewarding you with this great getaway,” he adds.

A total of 15 prizes have been lined up under this spend and win contest. The three Grand Prizes are an eight-day trip to Los Angeles, a six-day stay in Venice, and a six-day getaway to Paris.

This is your chance to take your loved one on a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard. Who knows you might just come face to face with a movie star? Otherwise float down a canal in Venice with a baritone and guitarist in the next gondola serenading you and your partner. Or dine at the Eiffel Tower and then head off to a show at the Moulin Rouge.

Apart from these three Grand Prizes, there will be 12 prizes for holidays in Malaysian destinations, such as the many island resorts, where one could sunbathe, go for a spot of snorkelling or just stroll down the beach as the sun goes down in a picturesque setting.

To make it easier for credit cardholders to participate, RHB Bank now makes it possible for them to submit their contest applications via SMS (short messaging service). Otherwise, the contest forms are available at any of the 182 RHB Bank branches nationwide.

RHB Bank is also extending this exciting campaign by rewarding its credit cardmembers double the number of reward points when they swipe their cards while travelling overseas during this campaign period. This campaign, which began on 23 April, will end on 23 October.

“It’s all about travelling and pampering yourselves this year. Besides, using Credit Cards is a secured, fast and easy way to shop. You don’t have to look for a money changer or bring a lot of cash,” Mr Lor points out.

Recently RHB Bank launched its ninth credit card, called Travel Money Credit Card, to align its promotions and activities with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 and to promote travel among Malaysians.
